Old Pogue Distillery
About Old Pogue Distillery
If you're looking for a mix of history and craft, the Old Pogue Distillery is worth investigating. The modern distillery is small and located up the hill from where the old historic distillery once stood along the Ohio River. The fifth and sixth generations of Pogues still own and run this distillery. Hear stories of George Remus, king of the bootleggers, see historic trinkets from the distillery's past, and enjoy a sip on the back porch of the house, overlooking the Ohio River, at the end of your tour. Make sure to drive into Maysville after the tour and visit the museum known as the Old Pogue Experience. Distillery tours are on Fridays and Saturdays by appointment only, so be sure to book through their website.
