8 Doors Distillery is located in the picturesque village of John O'Groats, the northernmost part of the Scottish mainland, offering stunning views of the Orkney Islands. Unlike the traditional image of Scotch distilleries, 8 Doors embodies the craft side of Scotland's whisky scene. Visitors can enjoy the cozy ambiance beside the fireplace with a coffee, cocktail, or while exploring their Seven Sons range of sourced whiskies.
The distillery tour delves into Kerry & Derek Campbell's dream of developing fine whiskies and sharing stories, along with the area's history, including the legend of Jan De Groot (the man the village was named after) and his eight-sided house near the shore. Tours range from a guided tasting to an in-depth tasting tour that explores the distilling process. The distillery also offers the opportunity to purchase bottles on-site in their gift shop.
