Boone County Distilling Co.
About Boone County Distilling Co.
The original Boone County Distillery opened in 1833 near the banks of the Ohio River. After being shut down in 1910, the brand remained a distant memory until the current owners re-established the distillery in 2015. They honor the craft and inspiration of their forefathers with the slogan “Made by GhostsⓇ.”
Sitting in an office park, two miles off the main highway, Boone County Distillery will give you a bit of a Clark Kent to Superman moment when you first walk in the door. The outside feels industrial, but the inside features the stylish Visitor’s Center. Look beyond the glass and you will see a full-featured production facility distilling bourbon, rye, and gin.
Your tour will take you from the hammer mill through the production process, and finishes in the warehouse just behind the main building. They reward you at the end with a guided tasting that goes beyond bourbon.
As seen in "Experiencing Kentucky Bourbon."
