About Limestone Branch Distillery
Which is the only Kentucky distillery owned by the legendary Beam family? If you said Limestone Branch, then you know your Kentucky bourbon. Part of the seventh generation of Beams, Steve and Paul Beam broke ground on the Limestone Branch in 2011. Since then, they have built much of that family history into their tours.
As you check out the family tree in the Visitor’s Center, you will notice another legendary bourbon family name, the Dants. It was J.B. Dant that brought Yellowstone bourbon to market in the 1880s. When the Beam brothers opened the distillery, they partnered with LuxCo to bring this classic name back to the state.
Being a craft distillery, when you step through the doors you will see the entire distillation operation consolidated in a single room. The first thing you will notice is the small bulb shaped 150-gallon copper pot still. After learning how they distill their product, you get a chance to use a whiskey thief to draw a cask strength sample.
