If you are expecting to get lost in a large corporate tour that keeps you at arm's length, you are in for a surprise at the Jim Beam American Stillhouse. Yes, Jim Beam is a global brand producing hundreds of thousands of barrels of whiskey each year, but the scenic campus and diverse tour will make you feel right at home.

2023 Update: If you visited the American Stillhouse before 2021, it is worth a return visit. After a $64 million renovation, the tour has met with some big changed. Of course, before checking in at the Visitor's Center, have your photo taken with the bronze statue of Jim Beam. Walk inside, get your ticket, and absorb the history of America’s first family of bourbon. You'll take a short bus ride and hear the history of the Beams and Noes. Next, you'll walk into what used to be the small craft distillery. This is where you will learn about Bourbon and Jim Beam's philosopy. Get a picture taken by the black Cadillac. After walking through some of the distillery, you'll dive deep into the barreling process including a video presentation. Finish with a chance to bottle your own Knob Creek and enjoy a guided tasting. This is one of the longer standard tours in Kentucky, lasting around ninety minutes.

To make the day complete, enjoy a meal at The Kitchen Table restaurant. And don’t forget to get your photo taken with a bronze likeness of Booker Noe in a rocking chair, along with his dog Dot.
