About Stirling Distillery
Located in central Stirling in the historic building known as The Old Smiddy, Sterling Distillery is a labor of love for owners June and Cameron McCann, who opened the distillery in 2019. They extensively renovated the space, adding a visitor's center, shop, and soon-to-be-renovated garden. As Scotland's smallest distillery, Sterling is big on hospitality, offering tours that delve into the distillery's history and conclude with a tasting, complete with recommendations on how best to enjoy their spirits. While they are known for their gin, Sterling has expanded into whisky, launching their Sons of Scotland independent bottling range in 2020 and beginning production of their own new-make whisky in 2023, marking the first time whisky has been made in Stirling since 1852. Their first whisky is set to be available in 2027.The Sterling Distillery Whisky Experience provides a comprehensive sampling of sourced whiskies from all over Scotland.
