About Deanston Distillery
If you're looking for a distillery with an uncommon story, Deanston is the one for you. Starting life as a cotton mill, new owners came in and turned it into a fully functioning distillery. Thanks to its water wheel, situated on the River Teith, the distillery not only powers itself naturally, it feeds the surplus back to the grid.
But this is more than just a story of an old facility gaining new life. The tour explains the distillery's natural sustainability, and takes you through the process, including a trip to the warehouse. You finish in the tasting room, enjoy Deanston's complex and fascinating whiskies.
For those not wanting to tour, there are several other ways to interact with the distillery. Gin and whisky fans can skip the tour and do a tasting of sister distillery Tobermory's gin and Deanston's whisky. Or try the warehouse maturation tasting experience featuring 3 drams of increasingly mature whisky that you can draw from the cask yourself. For drivers taking the tour, driver's packs are provided.
