Bowmore Distillery, located on the picturesque shores of Loch Indaal, offers visitors a wonderful view into the past. Established legally in 1779, it is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland.
For your tour, make sure to arrive a little early so you can visit the tasting bar, where they can sample whisky while taking in the stunning view of the loch. The signature tour, which includes a cask tasting, provides a comprehensive overview of the distillery's character and the art of whisky making. One of the highlights of the tour is the opportunity to visit one of the few remaining malting floors in Scotland that is open to the public. The tour culminates in a visit to the Legendary No.1 Vaults, a historic stone warehouse located on the edge of Loch Indaal. Here, guests can witness firsthand how Bowmore whiskies develop their unique balance, complexity, and beauty over time. The tour includes three drams, two of which are cask strength, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the depth and character of Bowmore's whiskies.
