About Ardnahoe Distillery

Welcome to Ardnahoe Distillery, a new chapter in the history of the Laing family, now in their third generation of whisky bottlers. In 2013, they made the decision to go beyond bottling and distill their own spirits. Doing their first spirit run in October 2018, their whisky was marked ready for release in May 2024.

The distillery tour offers a captivating glimpse into the whisky-making process, showcasing unique features such as the only worm tubs on Islay and a century-old Boby mill sourced from the Fettercairn Distillery. One thing distillery tour afficianados will notice are the extremely long lyne arms that run from the stills, across the room, and out to the worm tubs. The stillhouse also gives visitors a wonderful view of the Paps of Jura across the Sound of Islay. Conclude your tour with a well-deserved dram of Ardnahoe whisky, followed by a visit to the distillery's shop for a bottle of their Scarabus blends, new single malt, or one of their collection of independent bottlings.

Note: If you've visited the distillery before and are planning to enjoy food in their cafe, unfortunately it has been closed. It's best to plan to eat in Bowmore before or after your tour. Also, for drivers, be cautious on the single track road that leads to the distillery. There are some sharp dropoffs.
