Located in Elgin, the heart of Speyside, Glen Moray Distillery has a rich history that dates back to the 1890s when it transformed from the Elgin West Brewery into a whisky distillery. The Distillery Explorer Tour offers visitors a glimpse into this history, taking them through the production processes that create Glen Moray's renowned single malt whisky. The tour includes a visit to Warehouse 1, where the maturation process is explained, followed by a tasting of two whiskies at the bar. The distillery also features an on-site coffee shop offering light lunches, homemade soups, cakes, and biscuits, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing break. Please note that the distillery is closed on Saturdays during the off-season.
