About Aberlour Distillery
Note: Due to renovations, as of April 2024, the distillery is temporarily closed to tours but still provided tastings. If you're planning a trip to Speyside, check the website for updates.
Fans of history and sherried whiskies will enjoy a trip through the Aberlour Distillery in Speyside. Located along the Lour Burn and within walking distance of the town of Charlestown, whisky lovers will immediately notice the beautiful stone building when first entering the complex. This is the Visitor's Center where visitors can buy bottles or check in for their tours. The distillery tour features a blend of history and process. As part of the Pernod Ricard group, a visit to sister distilleries Glenlivet and Strathisla can create a wonderful study in contrasts. For it's part, Aberlour features a nice mix of history and process. The journey begins with the story of the distillery's founding by James Fleming, local philathropist, and ends with a tasting in the board room featuring Aberbour 12 - a classic expression with notes of ripe fruit, sherry, and spices.
