Highland Park Distillery
About Highland Park Distillery
Situated on a hill overlooking Kirkwall, the Highland Park Distillery provides a unique way to experience the Viking influence on this Scottish isle. Getting here isn't always easy. But the journey to the stormy Orkney Islands is rewarded with the sight of beautiful stone buildings that house this iconic distillery. The tour takes visitors through the whisky making process, and includes a view of the distillery's "new" 100-year-old kiln. While hearing about the process of malting, the aroma of local peat smoke wafts through the air, adding to the experience. Highland Park 12, a flagship expression, is a testament to the diverse regional characteristics of Scotch whisky, offering a remarkable blend of flavors that epitomize the essence of Highland Park Distillery.
Note: Unfortunately for visitors, the distillery tours have been put on hold this year. The distillery is going through an enviromental upgrade. However, tastings are still being held at the Highland Park Kirkwall store. Follow the distillery's social media for progress updates.
